I am in the same boat as you.. I rebuilt my laptop recently with Vista and my biggest complaint was that PGP didn't work but now that they have released a beta for Vista I am happy with it and do reccomend it to those with beefy systems.
You are also wrong in your comment about useability vs. security. Microsoft is all about usability instead of security and Vista is no different. They have made minor at best security improvements.
