For instance, they use old school high-pressure sales techniques. A large portion of people who really 'need' gutter protection are elderly, because they can't get on ladders etc.. So they send in the high pressure sales guy,and install the helmet the very next day. That way they wont be able to back out of the deal. Also, once you've been installed, if anything goes wrong with the gutters or helmet YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR SERVICE. So not only did you get ripped off bad on what you paid, your gonna have to pay to maintain the system. Helmet gets dirty and requires cleaning, its hidden somewhere in the paperwork...

Re: Gutter Helmet: On the persistence of blog posts

Thanks, Don

Re: Gutter Helmet: On the persistence of blog posts

I just had a nightmare of an experience trying to get an estimate on new gutters and Gutter Helmet, sold and installed by J.D. Turza Associates in Elyria, Ohio. They are the sole distributor in northern Ohio. The company misrepresented their affiliation to Gutter Helmet, how long they have been distributing the product, and even how long they have been in business. Gutter Helmet may be an excellent product, but their distributors REALLY SUCK! J.D. Turza et al is based in Tyler, TX and calls the product "Gutter Solutions" on their TX website. I spoke to Peter Ciotta at Gibraltar, and he assured me he would find an alternative distributor...one who doesn't lie, deceive, or misrepresent the product or services. Wish me luck. P.S. The quote for 120 ft. of gutter w/helmet was $5,113.50. Dream On!
